Audarya Winery, Serdiana
Audarya Winery is run by the Pala family who work with local growers around Serdiana as well as cultivating their own fruit, as they have done for several generations.
The brand was established fairly recently by brother and sister Salvatore and Nicoletta, but it has quickly become well respected as a progressive winery that honours the grapes, winemaking traditions and environment of Sardinia.
Their 50h of vineyards, spread over four estates – Audarya, Acquasassa, Su Stani and Is Crabilis, with more planting planned – are a gazetteer of the island’s lesser known native grape varieties. Nuragus, Cannonau, Vernaccia, Nasco, Monica, Bovale, Malvasia, and, of course, Vermentino di Sardinia are among them.
Depending on the grape and wine style, they’ll spend time in either stainless steel, cement, concrete or wood on their journey through the winery and every one of the 400,000 bottles will leave with a genuine Sardinian cork stopper, from Tempio Pausania – the heart of the Sardinian cork industry.

The majority of Audarya’s vines are between 25 and 30 years old, many cultivated as bush vines – one of the oldest pruning techniques that encourages the roots to dig deep while the canopy protects grapes from scorching temperatures on the Campidano plain – and others as low espalier. The majority are harvested by hand.
The winery produces white, red, and dessert wine and, in 2023, launched its first sparkling white.
This generation of winemakers are determined to raise Sardinia’s profile as a quality producer and, much like English wine producers in the early days of the English wine renaissance, they’ve realised that one of the best ways to do that is to open up their wineries to visitors.
Audarya has invested in vineyard tastings and experiences, never missing the opportunity to tell the story of Sardinian winemaking.
